  • WHEN IS THIS YEAR’S AUCTION GOING TO BE?

    This year’s Charity Sports Auction will take place on December 10, 2011 @ 7 pm during the Syracuse University-George Washington University Men’s Basketball game in the Carrier Dome.

    WHERE IS THE AUCTION GOING TO BE?

    The auction will be held in the backcourt of the Carrier Dome before and during the basketball game. In order to gain admission you must have a valid ticket to the game.

    WHAT TIME WILL THE AUCTION BE HELD?

    Gate will open 2-hours prior to the start of the game at 5 pm, and bidding will continue through the end of halftime. At which point you will be free to claim any items which you have won.

    WHO IS HOSTING THE EVENT?

    This auction is being hosted by the Sport Management Club of Syracuse University in conjunction with the Carrier Dome and the Syracuse University Department of Athletics.

    WHO IS THE BENEFICIARY OF THE EVENT?

    This year all of the proceeds to the auction will benefit Upstate Cancer Center! If you wish to learn more about their organization and the programs which they offer please go to their website http://www.upstate.edu/cancercenter/.

    WHAT ITEMS WILL BE AUCTIONED OFF?

    Great items for this year’s auction include memorabilia from every sport imaginable – including some unique autographed items; restaurant gift certificates; electronics; tickets; gift items; hotel accommodations and so much more! There will be more than 400 items available for purchase.

    HOW MUCH DO AUCTION ITEMS COST?

    Items are valued from $25 to $2,000. Bidding could start as low as $5.

    HOW CAN I DONATE AN ITEM?

    Donations for this year’s auction are still being accepted and are greatly appreciated. If you have questions about donating, please contact Jim Geant (jegeant@syr.edu) or Rayna Linowes (relinowe@syr.edu).

    CAN I DONATE MONEY TO THE AUCTION?

    Yes. Please make checks payable to: Sport Management Club, Syracuse University and under ‘notes’ list – 2011 Charity Sports Auction. Checks can be mailed to: SU – Dept. of Sport Management, ATTN: Kate Veley, 808 Nottingham Road, Syracuse, NY 13224. This money will be used to help offset costs allowing for  great donation to Upstate Cancer Center.

    WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT AT THE CHARITY SPORTS AUCTION?

    We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. ATM’s are also available in the Carrier Dome.
